Gloria's Story
Gloria Beatriz Villalba Brozón
My name is Gloria Beatriz Villalba Brozón. Throughout my life, I have had the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop both personally and professionally, discovering in education a true vocation and a meaningful way to contribute to the development of individuals and my community.
I am the second of six siblings. Growing up in a large family taught me from an early age the values that remain fundamental in my life today: responsibility, respect, solidarity, teamwork, and, above all, the importance of supporting one another and remaining united as a family.
My parents played a fundamental role in my life and education. Although they did not have the opportunity to pursue a university education themselves, they always taught us that studying was one of the most important tools for personal growth, self-improvement, and building a better future. Through their words, example, hard work, and sacrifices, they taught us to value every opportunity to learn and to understand that education could open doors and create new opportunities in life.
I completed my primary education at Escuela Básica Capitán Pedro Juan Caballero and later continued my secondary education at Colegio Capitán Pedro Juan Caballero.
With the desire to continue growing and preparing myself to serve through education, I completed my teacher training at the Instituto de Formación Docente “El Maestro” in Eusebio Ayala.
My interest in Paraguay's cultural identity and one of its most important linguistic heritages also led me to continue my studies at the Ateneo de Lengua y Cultura Guaraní, where I earned a teaching qualification in Guaraní Language. This training strengthened my knowledge of our language, culture, and national identity.
I subsequently continued my university studies in the city of Caacupé, where I earned a degree in Educational Sciences from the Universidad Tecnológica Intercontinental (UTIC).
Professional Journey
In August 2004, I began one of the most important stages of my professional life when I joined Instituto Cultural Reinaldo Macchi, where I began working as a secretary, a position I held until 2010.
In 2005, the school's first graduating class began its studies. During this period, I continued working as a secretary in the afternoon while, in the mornings, I had the opportunity to work directly with students, teaching Personal and Social Development.
This experience allowed me to work closely with students, understand their needs, accompany them through their development, and gain an even deeper understanding that education is not simply about transmitting knowledge, but also about shaping individuals with values, dreams, responsibilities, and life goals.
In 2011, I was appointed Vice Principal, a position I held until December 2015. During those years, I gained valuable experience in educational administration and strengthened my skills in leadership, organization, teamwork, and supporting teachers and students.
In 2016, I became Director of Colegio Privado Reinaldo Macchi, a responsibility I continue to hold today.
My years as a director have been a time of tremendous learning, challenges, and fulfillment. I have had the opportunity to work alongside teachers, students, families, and various organizations, always seeking to contribute to the growth, development, and well-being of the educational community.
An Experience That Changed My Life
In 2010, I had the opportunity to learn about SeriousFun Children's Network through Team Tobatí, with whom I worked for three years during the summer.
This experience had a profound impact on both my personal and professional growth. The organization provided me with three years of training to serve as a Camp Wellbeing Director.
As part of this training, I also had the opportunity to travel to Dublin, Ireland, and California, United States. These international experiences broadened my knowledge, allowed me to discover different realities, and taught me new ways of supporting, caring for, and working with children and young people.
Without a doubt, these experiences left a lasting mark on my life and provided lessons that continue to shape the way I understand education, leadership, teamwork, and supporting young people.
I believe that a good educator never stops learning. For this reason, throughout my career I have continually sought opportunities for professional development, continuing education, and training.
To this day, I continue to participate in various training programs, courses, and professional development opportunities because I believe that staying current is essential to responding to the challenges facing education and, above all, to providing better opportunities for students.
Since July 2024, I have also worked as a teacher in the fourth cycle of Bilingual Education for Youth and Adults during the evening shift. This experience has allowed me to return to the classroom and accompany students during a particularly meaningful stage of their lives.
This new experience has enriched my professional journey and reinforced my belief that education has no age limit and that there is always an opportunity to learn, grow, and achieve new goals.
My Purpose
I feel proud of the path I have traveled and deeply grateful for every opportunity life has given me. My education, experiences, and the people who have accompanied me throughout my journey have taught me that there is always something new to learn and that every piece of knowledge we acquire can become a tool for helping others.
My purpose is to continue growing both personally and professionally, pursuing ongoing education, and contributing, through my role, to a quality education grounded in values, respect, cultural identity, commitment, and opportunities for all.
After so many years dedicated to education, I continue to firmly believe that every student has a story, potential, and a dream that deserves to be heard, valued, and supported.
For this reason, I look back on my journey with gratitude while also looking ahead with enthusiasm for continuing to learn, serve, and leave a positive impact on every person whose path crosses mine.
Education has been, and continues to be, one of the great purposes of my life.
